ARC Grand Opening – A Night to Remember!

Farm Philly is excited to announce the completion and successful opening of the first capital project from our Growing from the Root plan: the Agriculture Resource Center (the ARC)! We celebrated the grand opening of our new, fully ADA‑accessible community space on Earth Day, April 22, 2026 alongside over 260 (!!!!) of our amazing partners, volunteers, and community members. The evening was bustling with tours, raffle prizes, old friends, new friends, and even a celebratory cake!

We are thrilled about the possibilities our comprehensive tool and resource library will unlock for public agriculture projects across the city. Making these resources accessible to all has been central to this work, and we are grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating the creation of new resource pathways. Borrowing for ARC members, along with updated public rental and return hours, is expected to become available in early Summer 2026.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the ARC on opening night—especially our friends at Hardena and South Philly Barbacoa, who graciously supplied delicious eats throughout the night for eventgoers. We would also like to give major thanks to our endlessly talented and creative community vendors The Vegan Chocolate Cake, Beaded Buddies and Bracelets, MAJESTIC SOAPZ, Modern Primativz, Adorn, Birdie & Co. , Alena Lattik , Earth Kandy Nail Polish , and Isabelle Roque Art, who brought dimensional livelihood to our new community space. Lastly, we extend our utmost appreciation to the stellar partner organizations who have worked alongside and supported Farm Philly through years that have been full of growth and change– Philadelphia Orchard Project (POP), the PA Audubon Society, PASA, the USDA, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), Philadelphia Water Department (PWD), Indigenous People’s Day Philly, The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH), Penn State Extension, and so many more. All of you, your presence brings Farm Philly to life.
