Farm Philly is pleased to announce that the GRAND OPENING of the new Agriculture Resource Center will be on Earth Day, Wednesday April 22nd from 5-8pm at the Fairmount Park Horticultural Center, 90 N Horticultural Drive.
Join us for live music, free food and a free raffle as we celebrate the opening of the ARC, a first-of-its-kind public resource designed to support urban agriculture and public land stewardship across the city. Held in recognition of the spirit of Earth Day, the event will honor the connection between people, land, and sovereignty while bringing together growers, neighbors, organizations and partners from across Philadelphia.
The ARC represents a major milestone in the implementation of Philadelphia’s first Urban Agriculture Plan, Growing from the Root (2023), and is the Plan’s first capital project. Designed as a free and accessible public good, the ARC provides equitable access to tools, materials, training, and knowledge for residents engaged in community gardening, farming, orchard care, tree stewardship, and other public land-based projects. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with Farm Philly staff, learn how to become members, explore upcoming programs, and celebrate the launch of a transformative public resource dedicated to community agriculture and environmental stewardship.
As part of the ARC’s commitment to responsive, community driven programming, Farm Philly has launched a public survey to hear directly from growers and land stewards. It takes just 5 minutes, and your input will shape future workshops, tool, trainings, and resources at the ARC. You can find it here.
