Registration: Please register here for the event!
Join us for a free kimchi making workshop at the Carousel House Farm on Wednesday, July 3rd from 5-6:30pm. Farmers Avery and Annie will lead us through a step-by-step kimchi demonstration using Avery’s family recipe and fresh napa cabbage from the farm, followed by a conversation about the cultural and personal significance of this staple Korean dish. Please bring jars or sealable containers if you’d like to bring kimchi home!
Kimchi is a traditional Korean side dish composed of fermented napa cabbage and other root vegetables such as carrots and radishes. It is eaten with most meals in Korea, and has a spicy flavor profile. Kimchi has been a staple of Korean cuisine for centuries (if not millenia), and the history of the dish is deeply intertwined with the history of Koreans living on the mainland and throughout the diaspora.
Address: 4300 Avenue of the Republic, 19131
Access: There is street parking on Avenue of the Republic. The farm is walking distance from the 38, 40, 43, 52, and 64 buses, and the 15 trolley. The farm is not wheelchair accessible.
