Farm Philly Volunteer Day with Masa Cooperativa – May 7th

Masa Cooperativa will be joining us to plant corn for the season! Masa Cooperativa is a local worker-owned coop that produces corn masa for wholesale and retail. Join us to learn about planting corn, nixtamalization, and ancestral foodways in Philly!
Farm Philly invites you to join us at the Carousel House Farm every Tuesday from 5-7pm. We will be planting, weeding, and maintaining our crops as well as harvesting for our weekly food distribution.
This is an all-ages event. Please bring friends and family who’d like to get their hands in the dirt!
We will provide tools, gloves, and water. There is a bathroom on site. We suggest wearing comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
Address: 4300 Avenue of the Republic, 19131 (down the street from the Mann). Street parking available. The farm is accessible by the 64, 38, 40, and 43 buses.
